Teva Extrem Outdoor Games 2010

The week of June 7th to 13th, I drove alone from Rodez (France southern center) in direction of Italy where were waiting for me buddies to enjoy a couple days of kayaking before going ValChuisella for the Teva Extrem Outdoor Games!!

All started when I joined Eric Deguil, Severin Haberling, Stefun Pion, Raph Thiebaut, Ron Fisher and the local legend Francesco Salvato to go boating on the Stura di Ala and its famous Salto di Mondrone!!

Me again, the next.

Me in the steep section of the Stura di Ala.

One of my favorite rapid, California Drop!!

Directly after the descent, we drove to ValChuisella to train on a bit on the race sections of the Chuisella where takes place the Teva Extrem Outdoor Games.

Fabrice "Fafa" Poueyto in training in the first big rapid of the race section.

The village of Fondo, in far far end of ValChuisella, well known by kayakers!!

The first day was the individual long race in the morning, then the afternoon the best 20 kayakers of the morning were competing for the "King of the Falls".

Isaac Levinson, from USA, didn't took ot easy on the river and ended 2nd at the individual long race.

Me in the last big rapid at the individual long race.

The frenchies, Fafa Poueyto, Mat Coldo, Stefun Pion, me and Eric Deguil.

The afternoon took place the "King of the Falls", unfortunately I ended 26th the morning, so I watched the race from the bank this wear...

Seppi Strohmeier (GER), 1st to go the afternoon!!

A bit frustrated to not compet...

Our french pink helmet Eric Deguil... who took a massive carnage, break his paddle and swim!! ;-)

Well... RESPECT!!! He finished the race with a single blade, really easy Rico!!

David Arnaud, the official videomaker of the event... with style please!!

Eric Deguil enjoyed his booty because of this swim today!!!
The next day, it's the team long race, on the same section as the individual long race!!

The Eric's van with the tarp who saved our lifes many times!!!

THE photo of the week!!! ;-)

After the team race, we moved to Ivrea for the next of the event.
Some trainings, a good long night in the bed and here we were ready for 2 runs of individual sprint, 2 runs of individual slalom and a single run of team slalom.

Me at the start of the individual slalom.

And as all good and truly saturday night, and more at the Teva Games, we did a massive party with all athletes.
And I've to say you, frenchies went big and were in da place for sure!!

Eric Deguil and myself.

The stars of the night Left to Right, Julian Stoker, Eric Deguil, me, Bart Stienen and Maarten Hofmans.

The next day was boater-cross day for the first 36 of the overall ranking.
I was dismissed at the quarter final in a super hard run with Isaac, Honza et Jhoann.

The overall ranking: Here
I ended 25th, quite satisfied to be able to compet at a serious level after my serious injury!!! :-D
I was off physically, and even I paddled well technically, it wasn't enough!!!

Once again, Teva Extrem Outdoor Games were more than perfect with a super nice schedule, awesome races in crazy places!!
Well, all good mention!!! Congratz!!

See you next year!!
